Was up yall I know that I been all of out of commission but I been terribly busy man. I been working for 13 days straight for the last few months and boi when I tell yall Im tired than a mf that is a understatement. Well anyways,On May 12, 2018 I had one of the most stressful, exciting, motivating days that I have had in a long time. I walked across the stage and graduated from college. I still am kind of in awe because I had the rough time getting to this point. When I initially started going to college in 2010, I was focused and had my eyes on becoming a administrator of a nursing home and being the boss. But of course
those visions changed, and so did my circumstances. I multiple times, and even flunked out right before time to graduate. I mean when I tell yall I went through the loops , but I feel like it was all necessary in order for me to grow and learn. I was used to just saying "fuck it" and taking the harder way when things aren't going the way that I envisioned things. I dropped out of highschool when I was about 16 years old, and if it was up to me I would have never went back to school until a nurse that I really liked sat me down when I was 18/19 years old and asked me when was I going to back to school to get my GED. My response was so ignorant I was like "I dont need to go back to school, I make good money I got my own car and crib" She shook her head but really talked to me in a way that I could understand and changed my perspective. later that week I prayed and told God that if I passed the GED test that I would go to college. Without studying or anything I passed the test!! I was geeked af, and I kept my word and enrolled in school. In the beginning, I really enjoyed my experience and was focused but being young and independent, I made a lot of foolish decisions. I dont regret anything but I definitely learned a few things along the way like.
Study- find a place to study like the library or the desk. I realized that I cant study in my room on the bed or near my phone or tv. I remove all distractions now when I seriously need to get work done.
Do research about your school- It is so important to understand the school policies, and tuition cost when going to college. Often times we dont know how good or bad a school is until get into academic/financial options
Make sure you go to school for what you like!- Do not go to school for something just because you think that It will bring you a lot of money make sure you like it, because if not you will waste your time energy and money that you can not get back.
Walking across the stage motivated me to get a second degree and It felt so good to have family and friends there cheering and rooting for me. I really enjoyed my time with them, this is my first time but it wont be my last!!!!
