Well people, Finally we got a company supporting our Boy Colin Kaepernick. Apparently they have had a deal with him alone but now they have decided to make Kaepernick the new face of their 30th anniversary "Just do it" ad. As many of you may know 2 years ago Kaepernick began using his professional platform to bring awareness to injustices that African Americans and minorities have been faced with in the hands of the police. Since then he hasn't been able to play football and has received a lot of negative backlash. So many people are saying that he should have found a different way to protest but what pissies me off about the whole thing is that these same people that have negative remarks to say have not taken a stand at all. Furthermore, They say that the national anthem is suppose to be paying homage to the soldiers that fought for our country. However, when you google the purpose of the national anthem you get an entire different meaning. Generally the national anthem is a patriotic musical composition that evokes and eulogizes the history, traditions, and struggles of its people, recognized either by a nation's government as the official national song, or by convention through use by the people. The majority of national anthems are marches or hymns in style. The countries of Latin America, Central Asia, and Europe tend towards more ornate and operatic pieces, while those in the Middle East, Oceania, Africa, and the Caribbean use a more simplistic fanfare. So many people feel that it is disrespectful to take a knee, but what if the soldiers had not fought for what they thought was right? There wouldn't even be a war or a national anthem if the people before us did not fight for what they thought was right. Colin is doing the same thing! He is a lot more peaceful then me and is inspiring to watch. So shout out my mf homie Colin for being woke af and Shot out to Nike for making a smart marketing move by rocking with the culture that spends with them the most lol... seee erbody eats b !!!
